O2: Toshiba SD-M1401 (default jumper settings)

Unread postby fu » Thu Mar 09, 2006 6:01 am

..kim was kind enough to send me a SD-M1401 :D

..i've been following these threads:

sgi branded external DVD-ROM question
sgi External CD-ROM Upgrade to DVD-ROM: Success!

...but i couldn't get mine play nice inside the O2 (replaced the original
XM-6401B), barfs out all kinds of errors (takes forever to read the cd/dvd, won't read, won't boot, etc)

so far jumpers are ON for:
    -ID4,
    -Term
    -512 Block size

Drive details:
    SD-M1401
    Ver. No: 004
    ROM Ver: 1009

could someone (who has it working) confirm the jumper settings of the SD-M1401 for me please?

Have you tried removing the termination, since your SCSI cable is already terminated?

cheers zaf:

double termination seems to cause most barfing...

everything is ok now, jumpers on:
    -ID4
    -Parity
    -512/2048

...scsi jumpers always make me dizzy
