Mr Bill helped me with this awesome box when I thought my first Octane was beyond repair. The dual ESI graphics cards are really sweet. For the moment it is still running IRIX 6.5.3m. I think I'll leave it with that so I can compare/contrast older IRIX 6.5 with 6.5.30.

The only thing this box needed was a drive sled and some LEDs in the light bar. I added one of my 3D printed drive sleds, and I'm debating what to do with the light bar. I might swap in more soft white LEDs, like I did with my first box. However, I'm thinking of doing something a bit more interesting.

I think it might be possible to add a strip of small, surface mount RGB leds. Then I could add a small embedded processor to control them and wire them into the box with the serial port. Then I could do all kinds of cool stuff, from a Knight Rider scanner, to an audio analyzer, to just random disco lights. It will probably be December before I try anything like that though.
