Jim Clark interview (Aug 2017)

Unread postby vishnu » Sun Sep 03, 2017 10:36 pm

This is must-to-watch:

The interviewer is a bit clueless about most (not all) occurrences in the tech world prior to 1985, which I found to be a bit annoying, but the ever-polite Clark managed to capably ignore that. What really stands out in this interview, beside Clark's incredible technical acumen, is his memory; he remembers EVERYTHING...
Project:
Temporarily lost at sea...
Plan:
World domination! Or something...

His recollection of that time (and even pre-SGI) was impectable - I hope when I'm that age I still can remember everything that well.

Thanks for passing that on - was a nice way to start the holiday.

I met him briefly when I worked at Linux Networx. It was like meeting the Pope. It really was. He's so freaking intelligent, but you don't feel stupid around him. He's just not that kind of person. I had a million questions for him, but alas, I was just a lowly software integrator and more important people were vying for his time.
