The mplayer tardist has no GUI; you'll need to run it from the command line.

you can find a front end for Mplayer, named XMplayer......i can't remember where i D/L it
but it's minimalist one, with a file selector and video out method selector.

i have modified this one with the addition of the - vo sgi output.

copy this script in a file , and run it ..........have fun

I believe that was some time ago however. XMplayer works fine, but all in all, you'll be happier in the end if you just get used to cl.

well, there is one little trick ... you can drag and drop video files directly onto the mplayer icon and that works. Have to set up the mplayer configuration file first but he should do that anyway. All the information on how to do that is here already; Use the search, Luke !!
