Is neko_abiword compiled with gcc? The release notes suggest that it is (shows gcc/g++ in environment variables). If so, I propose the package be renamed to match neko_inkscape.

Yup. Couldn't pull it off in MIPS 7.4, maybe with 7.4.4m. I'll go for a rebuild (relabeled if neccessary).

Okay, I renamed the file to neko_abiword-2.2.7_gcc.tardist for now. Thanks!

2 packages... different name

Unread postby joerg » Wed Jun 07, 2006 2:08 am

Subject says all... we have

Code: Select all

neko_audiofile       10/08/2005  audiofile-0.2.6 sgi audiofile library

and

Code: Select all

neko_libaudiofile    10/08/2005  audiofile 0.2.6 Audio Conversion Library

First one was created by Tobias on 14-08-05 and the 2nd one from Dexter (maybe someone can pull the plug out of the WoW servers so he can come back?) in 26-04-04.

The project is named 'audiofile' and also the cvs modul have this name (http://www.68k.org/~michael/audiofile/).

Is there an easy way to find out which package is used as a dependancy from others? A first look on dexters mirror show me a lot of references to libaudio. But the listing is incomplete and only half of the packages are shown correctly.

regards
Joerg

good catch joerg---clean up an recompile (without the lib prefix) needed? I'm swamped right now, but maybe in a few weeks I can get back to nekoware.

It looks like only one package depends on 'audiofile' - neko_freeciv-2.0.7 - and it also has a dependency on libaudiofile. I used the 'neko_libaudiofile' package when making the mips3 version since everything else lists it as the dependent package.

Credit goes to Wh|eRus from #nekochan. I already stopped nitpicking on packages.

Well, than remove neko_freeciv-2.0.7 and neko_audiofile from /current into /obsolete.

For those people who use his machines as a development box for nekoware packages have to check if they have neko_audiofile installed and remove it.

Question of the day is how smart is the inst tool with filenames that ownes by more than one package :).

Otherwise maybe the following can fixt it

Code: Select all

inst -f neko_audiofile-0.2.6.tardist
install same
7 neko_freeciv2 neko_audiofile
go
14
2

Yep - I know of another package like this; neko_sdl-1.2.9 includes libraries from neko_sdl_ttf-2.0.7 as part of the default install. I fixed this in my build but the mips4 version is still broken.

Code: Select all

[o2k]:/ $ ldd usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf.so |   grep libaudio
        libaudio.so  =>  /usr/lib32/libaudio.so
[o2k]:/ $ ldd usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so | grep libaudio
        libaudio.so  =>  /usr/lib32/libaudio.so

Also inst/swmgr give no conflicts when start removing neko_audiofile. I cant see a reference to libaudiofile?

That's not what I meant - I mean that the actual shared libraries that neko_sdl_ttf provides are also part of neko_sdl-1.2.9. They're duplicated.

Code: Select all

[Mizuki:downloads/Nekoware/current] neko 7# versions long | grep libSDL_ttf-2.0
l     0     0 neko_sdl.sw.lib       m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so
l     0     0 neko_sdl_ttf.sw.lib   m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so
l     0     0 neko_sdl.sw.lib       m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.1
l     0     0 neko_sdl_ttf.sw.lib   m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.1
f 56922    95 neko_sdl.sw.lib       m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.1.1
f 39239    95 neko_sdl_ttf.sw.lib   m usr/nekoware/lib/libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.1.1

Not a problem - I almost completely forgot about it; the joerg's post on the audiofile duplicates reminded me that I'd run into that last week with sdl :)

Thank goodness. This, along with its perl binding, is the greatest XML parser ever.

Seeing as the perl binding requires a complete object tree, what are the odds you could package the built-but-not-linked-or-installed object tree into neko_xerces.src or neko_xerces.obj?

Stop. I have take a look to the relnote file and cant see anything related to PERL. Maybe i have mixed something up. There is no configure swith for enabling a perl binding ..... so i cant see what do you miss :)

Aha... maybe you mean http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-p/ . Looks like an additional package.

Joerg
