What is that purple PC looking thing? Is that an intel rebranded SGI? Don't remember that one.

I'd want the Tezro and maybe one of the Octane2s BUT, this would have to be a group buy. No way I am cutting 4k right now. ;)

I don't know enough about the Rackmount systems to even know how to evaluate.

The purple thing is indeed an Intel rebadge. It's an SGI Virtu VS, originally built by Boxx Technologies. So it's not even an in-house rebadge, they just sold fancy colored systems by another manufacturer.

Too bad I got a new car and a lot of bills otherwise I'd be down to group buy.

Well, if we're going to group buy, I can't decide whether I REALLY want, or REALLY do not want the Virtu... On the one hand, rare SGI. On the other, common BoXX :) .

Feedback?

I'd say ~$800-$1k for tezro, ~$1k for "onyx4", $1k for both Octanes, plus the O350 and the PC and various odds and ends...

$4k might be very top price for everything, doesn't really leave room for any resellers. I've blown way more than $4k on lesser sgi's over the years...

Speaking of BoXX I have been tempted to buy one of their little novelty mini towers called Apexx1.

Ridiculously expensive if I were to try and make it myself from NewEgg I could get a similar setup for 1/3 off the price almost.
But they have that super cute little case setup. Like a little modern o2.

It would be pretty funny if one could somehow stuff the guts of a Tezro into that pc case (you know, how it seems popular for PC people to want to mod a old sgi with pc guts...)

I paid peanuts for my Tezro because traded for it mostly.

The Tezro config there is worth about $1500 based on the nodeboard (4x800 is quieter than 1GHz) and DCD/V12

The Onyx4 is very nice, I would like that personally BUT I have bigger things to worry about and lack the space. I'd say $750-900 based on what it has.

Rackmount Tezro/O350 is between $700-900

Octanes unless they're top of the line I'd say no more than $400-500 apiece

That SGI PC is cool though.
