Individual Computers has recreated the Commodore 64 in a modern, region free motherboard design. You need to BYOC (Bring your own chips) but it's a neat prospect. I bought it on a credit card.

I will be putting it into a dead C64 breadbin I have,

I recycled a dead breadbin C64 a few months ago! If I had known about this I'd have kept it, darn!

It's about $270 including shipping though, not cheap!

Re: C64 Reloaded
It's essentially a brand new enhanced C64 though...
Even at the 1985 price of $149, a brand new C64 cost $341.57 in 2017 dollars.

Re: C64 Reloaded
It arrived intact, and I assembled it over the span of about an hour. The board is shorter, so it doesn't fit in my old breadbin quite as well - as it's not secured from the front. I may transfer it eventually to a C64C case, preferably a clear one, to rectify this.
It does BASIC well. I need to confirm my SID works, but I'll have to wait until my SD2IEC arrives so I can test it thoroughly.
High quality product.
If there's demand for it, I'd produce an assembly guide on irix.pw and ifixit for when I xfer it to a C64C case.
For now, enjoy sharp images from my Trinitron CRT and of the computer!
