Mips3 E-Uae

Unread postby marmotta » Sat Jan 07, 2017 12:43 pm

I not able to find it... I very curious to view my Indigo2 (R4400) performance in Amiga emulation. No way to compile e-uae for mips3 irix 6.2?

I was able to compile it on a R4k Indy (mips3) with 6.5.22 without any problem (nekoware's mips3 stuff are installed).. I took the orig tardist (mips4) author's patch that is avail inside the tardist.. but it would not run... well it just sat there not doing anything, no GUI menu showed up either. The exact same compile done on an O2 (mips4) worked fine.. just at 300mhz it was quite slow. My Octane @ 600mhz runs it adequately so I do not have high hopes for a r4k.

I was compiling with MIPSPro.. maybe I'll try gcc next.

Ok, thanks for the interest, I'm very curious to see the speed of 250mhz r4k of Indigo2 and r4k 150mhz of Indigo :-)

compiled with GCC (mips3) it seems to load up the GUI/menu now. but it took awhile. This is on a 150mhz Indigo-without-the-go.
I started a Sword of Sodan game.. its a slide show with music very choppy.

Maybe more tweaks to settings could make it better....

tarball of binary below...
My attempts to compile with MIPSPro did not seem to work well on my Indy. GCC, esp v3, may not be super optimized on the platform.
Depending on how far you get with performance, I can see about creating a tardist for this.

I have installed all required libraries from TGCWare (I have Irix 6.2) but I have the libaudio.so missing issue (notorious). Exist a easy solution? Or I need to downgrade to 5.3 or upgrade to 6.5 (I prefer to not upgrade... I have others machines with 6.5)

You have libaudio.a in /usr/lib32

I think it's as easy as (MIPSpro):

Code: Select all

cc -shared -all -o libaudio.so libaudio.a

GCC has slightly different syntax, probably "-Wl,-shared -Wl,-all" or similar.

Compiling libaudio.so succesfull (I added the -n32 option)

Now when I launch uae I have this error:

983:./uae: rld: Error: unresolvable symbol in ./uae: __libc_attr

The issue is libc.so.1 in /lib32 I have tried to copy the version on 6.5.3 without success (if I start uae it immediately "killed")

Other solution?
