I think that it could be moved to current. I am using it it all day long since I came to London (seven months ago) and I have never had a problem with it, at least playing MP3 .

I also vote to promote to /current. Worked with mp3 from CD-ROM and from hardisk without problems this weekend.

Curiously, in /current there is a XMMS release with the same version number. File in /beta was uploaded one year later. I can't find any information about the differences between each version.
