Thanks for the files! I'll see if I can integrate those in with the audio engine in-game...

Have about 1/4th of the source compiling with MIPSPro (let's face it...it's one of the pickier compilers out there) so definite progress so far!
May have a bit more time this weekend still and if I can figure a few of these out (weird file inclusion errors, amongst others) this may be up and running by next week.

--

edit: scratch that...down to 5 more files (4 are platform specific implementations I need to make...the 5th is weird compiler issues).
Anyone familiar with the math library CML?

Once I can nail this out, it should be home free!

If you really need something as a reference for audio in IRIX, I'd suggest looking at ScummVM (MIDI), ao_sgi in mplayer or the darkplaces or xmms nekoware package. While IRIX' libaudio is rather easy to use and getting it to work should be feasible during a rainy afternoon, at the end of the day, it's probably a better investment of your time to just use SDL.

Made a little more progress on this...assuming I get to spend more time next weekend it sounds like I'll probably be able to get a beta out next weekend!

And no, this would probably be released "just for fun" and as an excuse to have my Octane hooked up here :)

Would love to play it! I can't play new games with my kids.... I figured out with Zelda on the N64 that I couldn't play 3d games. I love games like Link to the Past and all of the old RPGs (minus deadly towers) from the NES/SNES! When I play Black Ops with the kids, I am always being knifed from behind. They know it pisses me off so they use that attack every time.....

*feels fortunate to be 15 years old right now*

N64s are running MIPS64. This makes them win. :P

But yeah, I don't play any new games. You could say that my most recent console is the Wii.

But yeah, I like a nice 2D game. So I hope this game will run on Linux.

I also hope that it has a system where you can't accidentally waste one or more attacks by using multiple characters to attack one enemy, only to have it die on the first hit. That always makes me go "FFFFUUUUU" lol.
