I was browsing through some old graphic design annuals when I stumbled across this rejected logo.

Print Magazine July/August 1996

"Kinetic" was the name proposed for Silicon Graphics' new generation of Indigo Computers. The logo was created to illustrate the name, which implies speed and suitability for animation and multimedia. Two- and three-dimensional versions of the logo were created and used for badges, collateral materials, posters, packaging and animation. The logo was dropped, however, when another name was chosen for the computer line.

I assume this was for the O2? It came out in 1996 and was focused on multimedia and animation.

Could be O2, could be Octane. The "new generation of Indigo computers" from the 1995 era would seem to be a successor to Indigo2 (i.e. Octane), but O2 did have more multimedia in the base machine.
