I found some IRIX CDs and they have the number: SGI 013-2478-001 REVH on the outside. Can anyone tell me what exactly these CDs contain?

I can't. There's an almost useless label or title in this thread, or you could run the relevant Google search, which didn't seem to offer much more info.

Any chance you could open the package and see what's printed on the individual CDs?

smj is right, while there's a nekowiki that lists Media Part Numbers, the part numbers that appear in the wiki are the ones printed on the disks themselves, rather than the marketing part number you seem to have. Since the marketing part number usually appears only on a label attached to the shrink wrap, and tends to get gone when the package is opened, it's a little more elusive to track down.

So I tried running just the 013-2478 portion of your number along with the word "IRIX". Comparing your number to similar google hits seems to suggest you have an IRIX 6.5.1 Update (Overlay) CD set. The first 7 digits in the string seem to point at IRIX 6.5 Overlay sets, and in each of those cases the last three digits in the number match the actual sub-release (where -007 would be 6.5.7, -021 would be 6.5.21, and 013-2478-001 would be 6.5.1).

Hey guys.

thank you for the help. The CDs are now in my hands and they are in fact IRIX 6.5.27 overlay CDs.
