Thanks for the praise! 8)

The disk IIRC is a Fujitsu MAS3367NC SCA (rebranded Worldisk whitelabel) + adapter. It's not quite as quick as the MAX3036NC,
but the difference is tiny and the MAS is slightly quieter (almost silent). Actually has a faster access time than a WD VR 10K SATA.
See my site:

http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/diskdata.html#ACCESS

Glad to hear it's all working ok!! 8)

Excellent! 8)

Did you change the monitor res as a result?

Btw, if you increase the monitor res, often when logging in again the icons will be in weird positions. If so, just log out and back in again
a couple of times - this lets the desktop reorganise the icon positions, etc.

In fact, I planned to open a new thread. With my old monitor (sgi 24" CRT) everything is OK, but I also changed it. My new one is a Dell UltraSharp U2410. I can't make it accept 1920x1200_60 nor 1920x1200_60p.
Does anybody also uses an U2410 with a V12 ?

That's distinctly odd... the U2410 is basically the same screen as the HP LP2475W, which is what I'm using with my Fuel V12 and
it works fine (set to 1920x1200_60p, Frame Buffer Depth = 16, Accumulation Buffer = software only). See:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/Dell-Ultr ... tor_review
http://www.trustedreviews.com/HP-LP2475 ... tor_review

Something in the Dell control logic perhaps?

Ian.

PS. Send back your Dell, get the HP. ;D

Thanks for you fast answer Ian. I opened in the meantime a new thraed in the Hardware sub-forum to be less "my-fuel-specific"...

Problem solved. It was a cable issue (see this thread).

After so many years I finally decided to buy a fuel. Hopefully Ian, as always, had lots of machines available at a very reasonable price. Moreover, he put so much care in the preparation, personalisation, packing and shipping of it that I'm fully satisfied. If you would like a new box working like a charm, he is definitely the guy you should contact. Thanks again for all, Ian.

I didn't found enough time up to now to discover every personalisation and gift he included... but I will have soon. I'm really looking forward to playing with it. It's such a nice machine.

BetXen

I have to agree with you about Ian, definite the guy you should contact. I've been very happy with how clean and well packaged the stuff I bought was, and how he doesn't mind answering all your sgi questions. Thanks again, Ian for the X-mas extras too.
