hi all,


just upgrade my veritas testmachine from sol8 to sol10, and now the a5200/luxadm crap is starting to be bitchy.

i really would like to administer the arrays with luxadm again so the whole thing is really anoying. is this configuration supported under sol10 anyway? if not. it must be a standing joke because i'm booting the machine from the a5200 and veritas also sees the disks.

Do you have SUNWifp, SUNWifph and SUNWifpx installed?

no there are no ifp packages on the system since there is no ifp hardware in the machine (sbus only). meanwhile i decided to reinstall...lets see

ok install finished....problem still exists :?

edit:

could not resist and removed the sol10 luxadm packages and installed the sol9 packages, and guess what....so this is what i call enterprise grade operating system... :evil:

Blah... :( Kudos for trying to older package! [I remember I had a client dump their 18x9GB A series array when I moved them from Sol 7 to Sol 10 because it said it was unsupported. 2 x 147GB drives more then made up for it. [The old array was dropping disk almost weekly near the end.]

in the end i switched entirely to sol9 because sol10 was unable to boot with the sol9 sf module. since i'm not interested in sol10 in this context its not a big deficit here. veritas is working, luxadm is working...mission complete
