Polar Bear Photo Adventure

Unread postby Oskar45 » Tue May 03, 2011 11:56 am

A (professional) photographer-friend of mine invited me to join him in November, 14 - 20 for an exciting trip operating out of Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, to photo-shoot them bears at Hudson Bay [client croup size < 15]. The price is $5495.-, including return flight Winnipeg - Churchill.

Sounds great to me - but has anyone on here done something like that before? If so, is it worthwhile? [It goes without saying that I'd have to add Europe - Winnipeg return flights costs as well, which are not precisely to be ignored - especially so, as I usually like to fly business class].
C is opium for programmers.

i personally love the wild parts of canada and the light over there.

if the price you're quoting includes only the intra-canada flights, then something ain't right, i think.

did you go to that dance performance?

It does sound a tad expensive.. But I think so long as you avoid getting eatten it would be the experience of a life time.
Not quite the same but just as cold... A girlfriend at the time, went to to south pole care of the US military as an Air Force photographer and she loved it.
