NEVER EVER destroy a good story with the truth

Talking about heavy heavy stuff I once had 3 fullsize racks of PDP11/44 RK05 floppys including a separate half rack of reel tape in my apartment feed from all tree rooms with windows opened to not overheat and some 10 DEC VT100 and two separate DEC 200MB drives(big ones).

Then in a summer I meet this really nice lady when I was away on a vacation, she did not know anything about these kinds of stuff, she was this nice lady always nice dressed including a huge hat.

Once back home I worked for some weeks and suddely she called a evening saying that she will come with a bus next morning, great I first though then I looked around what to do athome and realized that my appartment was not a ladyfriendly one and this was a 0100 hours.

I had to wake my younger brother who had a summer jobb at my office and carry all computers down to the basement in the middle of the night

Once she arrived in the morning she asked me polite why there was such a mess athome (:
We did not stay together long ...

A friend of a friend (ever good story begins like that) used to run an PDP-11/70 in his dorm. His neighbours asked him after a while why he vacuum so often! I guess the fans of an 11/70 can be mistaken for a VAX

If that's true than someone in IBM probably got in big trouble over it.
