Wow, that guy has a lot of time on his hands... And sounds like he picked the wrong country to hang out in, being a vegetarian that's allergic to alcohol, and vehemently hates anime and smoking...

Its all true.

The mandatory party thing and hostess clubs, the screaming and office protocols ... actually most of the blog ... I agree with, totally... they exist.. I however just went with it.. None of it bothered me... at least not to the extent of the blog writer..
I am not a vegetarian, I didn't mind smoking.. I drank with colleagues at any request. I went to hostess clubs with the team.
I ate with the team often. I was accepted as much as an outside person could be. The Chinese guy and myself were still on the outside on somethings, but generally not that often.

Actually there are a lot of vegetarians in Japan... Just claim to be Buddhist, if you don't want to eat meat.
