Good chance it was shot on location in an actual technology recycling center - it looks pretty much like most of the ones I've been to.

After they get tossed around a bit and have stuff stacked on top of them they'll be off to eBay <or of to hamei's part of the world for "recycling">.

I certainly always thought it was an Origin (or Onyx2 rack) in MTAC.

Like another poster mentioned, there's at least one 1600SW on somebody's desk (or perhaps everybody's desk?). Details are fuzzy, but I'm sure I've seen the 1600SW, complete with SGI logo, in nearly every episode. I'll be sure to pay special attention when it airs tonight.

Given the age of the hardware, I always figured the set decorators just raided the dumpster behind the special effects department to get obsolete computers to use as props.
