A quick note that Nekochan may be down for an indeterminate time on Friday, possibly longer. I'm getting a new business class DSL loop, and I don't know how long it will take to migrate the IP addresses over from the old loop. Compounding the trouble, I'm also working a cellular switch cut (on site) in Sunnyvale that evening which will impact my ability to follow through if issues arise.

Supposedly it will only take 20 minutes to migrate an IP so I don't expect there to be trouble. Just a heads up though :)

Thanks, however long you take, you are still meeting the SLA. :)

SLA: True.

@neko thanks for the heads up.

Some members have a fair amount of emotional investment, per the post a few threads back to which neko responded something like I am not allowed to bounce my own servers now. Would be nice if there was second place which somehow everybody automatically knew to look where outage announcements could be made so if it was missed here then maybe they could find the same announcement on I don't know comp.sys.sgi or one of the mirror sites or something..

Just a mere suggestion

Regan

Assuming that is more expensive than regular domestic some of us should pass the hat around or something.

Woo-hoo better performance out of nekochan.net too. :D

Probably going to move this project to Monday - the new loop is installed, but I want to monitor the line over the weekend before I migrate things from the old loop.

I believe Neko has said in the past that Nekochan only takes up a part of his bandwidth.

Nope, not yet - I have some night work that requires net access early this week and don't want to tempt fate.

The project's been cancelled - the new loop was not stable. Going to continue on with the old one, so no changes will be made.
