What's the SRM date in your machine? I wonder if a Radeon will work in a 1000A 5/333.

Unfortunately Radeon will probably not work in a 1000A 5/333. At least it will not work in a AS4100, and that is a little newer machine.

I don't have any Alpha atm but was offered a PWS500au with 500MHz CPU, 256MiB memory, 9GiB with non-working gfx card. What do you think how much is it worth?

If you are planning to buy EV56 workstation, I suggest you get AlphaPC 164LX instead. You can get one with 666/667 MHz CPU, and 4MB cache for next to nothing.

I think you are mistaken. I don't think an LX was ever released with 4MB L3, and the 667MHz CPU is extremely rare.

If anyone is interested, I've got a spare 533MHz LX I wouldn't mind selling.

No, 4 Mb was the maximum L3 cache that was fitted to Samsung AlphaPC 164LX board. There may be different versions of the board though, as this board I have has different jumper settings than in the manual that came with it.

Is the 667 MHz CPU really that rare, as the place I bought mine had more than one.

I could probably send you one for free, if you are willing to pay shipping costs. I have faster alpha machines now, and my home is running out of space to store all my toys.

The package with LX164 has arrived from theinonen today. It was carefully packaged and everything in working order. The next step is finding a suitable job and an operating system :)
@theinonen: thanks again, it's pleasure to deal with you :)
