Fly! 2K problems

Unread postby pentium » Mon Apr 20, 2009 7:01 pm

I found an actual Flight simulator for macs called Fly! 2k and it looked pretty complete so I bought it and took it home and...wait, what?
I know this is a mac program (from the box all the way down to the discs it says it's for G3 and better macs) but my macs only see it as an "untitled" disc and all the files on the disc are complete garbage to me. The root has four folders and three unrecognized files, all of which have "~#" (with # being a number and excluding "readme.txt", "license.txt" and the "extras" folder) which normally I only see when DOS has to trim down the name of a file because of the character limitation.
The readme file is no help at all so I'm totally lost. Also, I put the disc under a light and I see no damage at all. Either I'm doing something wrong here or the actual disc itself is flawed. What could it be?

EDIT: Also, these are genuine discs. They are not burned CD-R media.

What Operating System version are you using? What does it say it needs?

Also, did you read this... http://www.planetcrap.com/topics/22/

It seems the first batch of CD's were produced with flaws. We will exchange it for a working copy, please enclose your original store receipt and a copy of this customer support transcript.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvience.

Well since I'm running on Mac OS 9.2.2 on a Sonnett Encore G4 upgrade which puts me in the system requirements I'm assuming then that I have one of the botched up initial release copies that is no good at all and I don't think that I'll be able to contact Terminal Reality and request new discs this late in the game It's almost ten years old.

Damn...
