I don't know if it is because I'm using Quicktime 4 or because I'm using OS 9 or what but when I view some transparent images (it does not seem to happen to all transparent images) I get all sorts of funky glitching where there should be a transparent space.

Example listed below.

This is an image that uses transparency

On my linux system it looks perfectly normal.
Now if I try to view it on my mac with either Picture Viewer or Photoshop 3.01 (I don't open pictures with anything else)...

Uh... :?
What happened? The image changed somehow.
Is this just a problem with how the mac is reading the pc-made image file?

If it helps any, I tried upgrading to Quicktime 6 Pro and I'm still getting the issue with transparencies.

According to the artist it's someone he knows turning into a bubble dragon (hence the line above ;) ).
Weird, yes, but I was in a rush and I needed an example of the problem I was getting and it was the first thing I found.

Um... I've got the same problem opening it with QT7.6 on Mac, displays fine with Safari3 tho.

Let me try and open it with both Mozilla and IE and see what happens.

EDIT: Mozilla could display it fine but IE used a Quicktime plugin and it gave me the image with the mentioned problem.
Still, I don't see why a mac is having so much trouble displaying an image with transparency/alpha channeling.
