A TV series your parents might not like you watching.
It was produced by a small canadian outfit with german financing. They produced four TV movies and then a series. What made Lexx different at the time was a) almost every set was "virtual", ie any backgrounds and long shots were computer generated with only a few items in the foreground being physical props. b) a large number of scantily clad people c) gross humour and effects.
The made-for-TV movies were quite fun, but theseries tailed off into dross rather quickly IMO.

Hmm, finally a reason to watch that flop. The TV series was so terrible it defined camp. Can't imagine why anyone would even consider a remake-movie. Guess now I'll spend a buck and see

Re: SGI hardware in movies
A couple of years ago I watched an IMAX film called Adrenaline Rush. They were building a parachute design originally proposed by Leonardo Da Vinci, and they were doing the modelling on what seemed to be an Onyx2 with three monitors attached.
And this isn't a film, but ... I recall watching an episode of When Games Attack about 3 years ago, and they visited the company making Kill Zone - one guy was using a 1600SW, but it didn't show what type of computer it was connected to.

Lost in Space is the one to see for all the SGI fanboys for sure, not a great movie, but high on SGI lore and imagery. I think of it is their last horrah with Hollywood before they started falling out of favor.

I seem to be the only one, but I rather enjoyed the Lost In Space movie. I never saw the TV series so I had no rose-tinted memories to spoil. Gary Oldman is always worth watching, even if the other actors appear to be made of cardboard.
The SGI product placement now seems as odd as the OS/2 placement in Goldeneye or the Pan Am ads in 2001 and Bladerunner. Perhaps if SGI had actually concentrated on "selling computers to schoolkids" like Joey-from-friends says in the movie, they might not have ended up where they are now.

Rose-tinted memories ! That show was so awful that even us kids were rolling on the floor laughing at it. Warning Will Robinson ! Danger ! Danger ! still sets me off into uncontrollable giggles. It may have been the crappiest show ever ! No, wait ... that must have been Voyage to the Bottom of the Bathtub, another pure stinker. Or perhaps Clyde Crashcup, most likely the cheapest animation ever done.
There were some real wieners on teevee about then

Re: SGI hardware in movies
The only thing I saw interesting about the old TV series was they used parts from the old Eniac or Univac systems as props, can't remember which.
Re: SGI hardware in movies
I caught a segment of "China: The Dragon's Ascent" on History Channel International that showed about thirty seconds of a what appeared to be a computer lab or design studio equipped with <teal> Indigo2s and at least one O2, along with SGI monitors.

^^ One of the wheel manufacturers in Guangdong used to have a purple Indigo2 with Euclid installed that they used for wheel design. I should try to see if they still have it, might be for sale. Hmmm ....
