Wow, not many new forum members lately! I've noticed that a lot of people just post on the news items and skip the forums altogether. I wonder if this is as big as it's going to get?

Me too ... maybe we're in a smaller niche than I thought.

Then again, I wonder what everyone is doing with all those SGIs sold on eBay? :)

Sadly enough, that's my experience too... It reminds me to some of these conversations with eBay resellers... Some kind of them are not interested to deal with this machines - only interested to earn money, nothing else...

I'm thinking about shutting down story comments on the front page. We're getting way too much duplicate discussion I think.

Opinions? :)

Edit: Okay, that's probably a bit extreme ... I did turn of anonymous posts though.

I've been buggin a few of the people that I know that mess with SGI personally to come in here, I have yetto see any of them besides orion who actaully tald me about how the site had had a major revamp since the last time I had been here.

I had to explain what a forum was to a feind of mine who was a green SGI starter. He thought that it was all real time and that times of 3:00am would mean he talked to nobody. No reason to laugh at him, he's only been messing with computers for a about 8 tp 10 months. I'd say he's off to a good start and I did set him straight on that whole forum thing. I hope he gets an account in here soon, he's a real big electronics and music buff.

Then there's they guy who got me my real foothold on the whole SGI thing...

:D No, but you could link the "Comments" to the "Forums" pages, but that's just a thought...

That's a good idea, I might just do that. 8)

BTW, I've added some new text to the comment submission form that might help as well.

I second Ph0enixs ideea - the comments should be links to a new forum thead created each time a new article is posted to the front page.

neko - make it so :) :)

PS: if you convert all te comments to forum posts - i claim all the comments signed as "jdoe"
