My Battery has just gone kaput on my Indigo2-Solid Impact. I've been having a look at the man page for the date command and yet I'm still having trouble setting the current year and century, could someone give me advice on how to do this?

Also, I'm wondering if the loss of the battery backed up clock will affect any of the applications installed on my machine such as Maya and Softimage as I believe they rely on the mac address to function and I'm unsure if the battery will affect this in any way.

Many Thanks for any help

-Tom

For today:

date 042814072003

The format is mmddHHMMccyy

m=month
d=day
H=hour
M=minute
cc=century-1
yy=year

The MAC address on an Indigo2 is not stored via a battery NVRAM but via a serial EPROM, so there should be no problems with nodelocked software and the network...
