Have any of the (much appreciated!) freeware porters here contacted the various original developers regarding build difficulty on IRIX? Perhaps even submitted patches?

I had on a couple of occasions -- I recall sumbitting my patches too AbiWord, GIMP print and at least two others. Sometimes the changes are incorporated sometimes ignored.

I have opened a kde-bug file forkdelibs/kdebase patches on IRIX. Haven't heard of it sofar.
Am busy with Celestia atm, will put patches on sourceforge if finished.
