RADEON 9000 Mac Edition Demos

Unread postby nekonoko » Sat Apr 05, 2003 11:40 pm

There are some very nice SmartShader demos now available from ATI which work nicely with an 8500 or better:

I have an 8500 myself but I can't wait to pick up a 9700; the OEM version was released earlier this week (now shipping with new towers) so I'm hoping the retail cards arrive soon.

Yeah, it would be great if ATI offered a "PCI" version (heh). Seriously though, I would like to see apple offer greater options for coustomizing when you order a tower. Already got a fast drive and lots of ram? Just deselect 'em when you place your order and the system ships sans memory and hard drive. Just droped $350 bones for the phat 9700 pro? No problem, we'll packed it up without that stock 8500. Obviously, Apple would like to retain a certain level of control with thier hardware, it would be pretty cool.
