Ok does anyone know any good website to learn how to set up X11 on osx? I don't have much exp with mac but it shouldn't be this hard. I've downloaded and installed the X11 for osx along with the sdk what else do I need to be able to run unix apps?

http://fink.sourceforge.net is the best starting place for X11 apps. Other than that it's just click and go.

Fink is quite cool, but a bit overwhelming on the selections...

Left me a little confused at first, but it is a very excelent way to get your X stuff for sure.

Yeah it's very cool ... I just installed KDE 3.1.1 the other day by typing:

fink install bundle-kde

I love how easy it is :)

If you want a GUI for the whole process, you can get FinkCommander at http://finkcommander.sourceforge.net - it's pretty nice and makes package selection point and click.
