Anyone heard the new U2 album?

Unread postby porter » Mon Sep 15, 2014 2:23 pm

Actually my point is that

* after the US lagged the rest of the world by decades, keeping it's magnetic swipes and avoiding chip-and-pin like the plague
* telcos dragged their heels over adding EMV to their SIMs and using TSMs over fights on the slice of their pie
* Apple spending years telling people to pay using BluetoothLE or Wifi and poo-pooing NFC

The telcos and banks have handed over retail payments to Apple on a silver plate.

"Oh look ! We wanted you to have this album on your computer, so we installed it for you ! If you are really nice, maybe we'll let you remove it !"

By the way, in the future you will be making all your payments with 0ur iPhone.

I have no comment on the topic, porter, but nice to see you posting. You've been missed.

Yeah it got shoved down my iTunes. Probably their worst album since 'Pop'.

'How to dismantle an atomic bomb' is the last U2 album I play on a (semi) regular basis, but mostly I prefer their work from the 80's.

I liked it, or at least the first 3 or 4 songs before it faded into background noise. Or maybe I had to walk around the shop and forgot to stop it? I know better than to expect too much from pop-music has-beens. See also: you get what you pay for.

Also this "But the inordinate amount of actual anger directed at Apple and U2 over this is so disproportional to the actual event, I've started to wonder about the mental state of some of those complaining."
