changing rootpwd in Ubuntu

Unread postby Arie van Schutterhoef » Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:05 pm

Does anyone know how to change rootpwd in Ubuntu with re-installing?
I find linux rather confusing in comparison to the way this works in irix.
Attempting to get VPN working, but when changing settings I have to go to /etc/.../, demanding the rootpwd.
