Both Canavan and me have compiled and tested openSSL 1.0.2j/k succesfully. Unfortunately RealLife got in the way of me working a lot on SGI's, but most of the crap has left my head so i can focus on packaging this for both mips3 and mips4
You can find Canavan's stuff in the /beta/canavan section of Nekoware. It's mips4 only, but his package build and testing procedure is excellent. Try it

A more recent version of the CalculiX http://www.calculix.de/ would be great.

I seem to recall it was ported a few years ago. In fact I think I installed and tried it on Octane around five years ago. Have you browsed the other folders from NekoWare mirrors?

Anyone have a go with libarchive? Includes a BSD tar implementation that would be VERY nice to have.

I am probably posting from yangxiaolong, HP Z230 with Xeon E3-1230v3, 16GB RAM, GeForce 750ti, and running NetBSD and Windows 8.1 Embedded.

This looks doable: uses cmake 2.8 and can enable/disable compression formats. So it's best to link against neko_libz/bzip2/lzma at the least.

Not exactly a recent version, but stumbled across Blender 2.27 'tuhopuu' the other month on a ye olde disck. Its got my source mods for IRIX Quicktime MJPEG export. So, practically, Blender has never really been 'absent' on IRIX. Blender just moved on with the times and left old school OpenGL behind. As it should, regardless of that recent thread where SGI hardware is supposedly still relevant to modern CGI.

I'm dreaming here, but the Macintosh source code for System Shock's game engine was made public today.

An automated deduction system like "otter" for first-order and equational logic would be great!
