Thanks for the help guys!

It's working, I'm currently installing 6.5.22 for the moment.

We're up and running and she's going like a Boeing!

This is the first time I've been able to stress the machine slightly since I've had it and I must say that it's performance is impressive when compared to my other machines as far as the demos are concerned! It seems to be considerably more responsive than my Onyx2.

After some adjustment:

I've got the files necessary to burn the disks for 6.5.30, but just one question: which version of IRIX 6.5 do you prefer and why?

I have to say that I've poo-poo'ed .30 for a while, but having had .22 on my Octane (single 400, v8, 1Gb ram) before, .30 does feel slightly more polished, not sure why, but it just feels a bit better...all very subjective though.

I'm sure .22 would feel better on slightly older hardware though.

:Octane: - 1xR12k 300Mhz, 384Mb RAM, SSE GFX, 18Gb 10K HDD, 6.5.30
:O2: - 300Mhz R5200, 384Mb RAM, 36Gb 15K RPM HDD, A/V Module, 4x CD-ROM, 6.5.30
