Can't start neko_sshd, missing ssh_host_ecdsa_key!?!?

I have been trying to setup sshd so I could login to my O2. I installed nekoware from following mirror:
ftp://ftp.nekoware.de/current/

inst -f neko_openssh-6.2p1.tardist
inst -f neko_zlib-1.2.5.tardist
inst -f neko_openssh-6.2p1.tardist

however '/etc/init.d/neko_sshd start' won't start because /usr/nekoware/etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key is missing (it indeed doesn't exist)

so I tried:

Code: Select all

# ssh-keygen -t ecdsa -f /usr/nekoware/etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key
unknown keytype ecdsa

any ideas?

Edit: @rhoenie over on IRC thinks that 'unknown keytype ecdsa' was due to me running IRIX's ssh-keygen instead of one from /usr/nekoware/*, I haven't tested because I went with stock openssh server after I found it on Overlay3 CD.

Use the command 'which ssh-keygen' to identify the binary.

Alternatively, try Canavan's Beta directory at http://www.nekochan.net/nekoware/index. ... 2Fcanavan/ for up-to-date ssh and ssl binaries or get mine from http://www.nekochan.net/nekoware/index. ... ps3-mips4/ for both mips3 and mips4 support.

I'm using the latter for a month now and it's been stable.

Canavan's Beta repo looks mint. Having openssl-1.0.2j on IRIX sounds nice and should be much more secure than old openssh. Thanks.
