I have Pro/E but it's on my INDIGO, hence I'd need some serial adapter changer.. which now I come to thing about it I do have, but it would mean the cables would end up being 50 miles long!

Once I have sorted out my desk system at home, I'd like to bring my INDIGO home (it is my favourite-ish).

Have you run the confidence tests (from Tool Chest)? It has tests for the spaceball that will tell you if the hardware works and is correctly set up under IRIX.

Downloaded drivers for Spaceball 4000 - Motion Control Centre (MCC) version 4.64

Something though needs translating, it's 45 degrees off how it should be positioned in my hand.

Well this explains why it's 45 degrees out..

Or rather not..

Mine is missing the part on the left, so it works fine. I just had it positioned incorrectly.

Now, I have drivers for Maya 5, I wonder can I get it working in Maya 6.5? There seems no options fro within Maya to use this, but just maybe a config file change or something may solve this.

I will let you know what I find.
