Anyone using one on Irix? It would be nice to have one on my Indy. Which means needs to run on 6.2, using perl5, using the minimum amount of libraries... There are a few out there, but some need all the gnome libs to run.

Been trying to get this to work on the terminal of my Indy, so far without success. Twitter circa 1996! Need to RTFM.

What about snownews? It's a console app, no Perl or much of anything required. I use it on Linux (sorry, I have no Irix boxes).

The Snownews works quite well (it fails with some feeds) but it is RSS-only. It has no support for Atom feeds. There is a plugin to make it work with Atom feeds but it mostly fails (at least it don't work on my IRIX boxes...).

It work with the Perl from the Nekoware. I use "ttytter -ansi" to use it on my O2

True, I had no luck with Atom feeds on snownews on my Linux boxes either. Didn't try it elsewhere.. For vanilla rss snownews is pretty good.

There was another one, in Smalltalk, bottomFeeder! I don't know if it's still around. VERY weird. But very configurable. I don't know whether someone could make it work on Irix but if you like wierd superconfigurable stuff that most other people never heard of it's worth looking into.
