Been a while since I update gcc (using 4.4.2).
Today I downloaded 4.5.1 source code and proceeded to update.
First dependency to be updated was gmp. I had 4.3.1 and I needed 4.3.2 or newer.
Downloaded gmp 5.0.1 and installed correctly.
Foolishly deleted the old libgmp.so.4.0 and it's sidekick link libgmp.so.4
Next in line to update was mpfr.
While configuring an error comes out:

See `config.log' for more details.
And now gcc won't compile squat. Creating a link appropiately named to the new lib does not do the trick either.
Have I hosed my working gcc 4.4.2? I remember something like this had already happened to me, but don't recall atm how I solved it.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
