IRIX boot issues on octane 2

heya guys, was wondering if anyone could help me with this? when i boot irix on my octane 2 it tells me "cannot load xio(0)pci(15)scsi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(0)/unix
Text start 0x19000. size 0x3ff837 doesnt fit in a FreeMemory area
Unable to execute xio(0)pci(15)scsi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(0)/unix: not enough space

Have you made sure that the Octane is seeing your RAM with hinv at the PROM prompt?

From there, try playing around with SASH - boot it and try loading ide, etc.

You could have memory problems or a corrupt /unix are my first thoughts. For the corrupt /unix you'll need to boot into miniroot, chroot over to the main filesystem, and re-sysgen your /unix.

Erm, was that disk installed with that Octane hardware configuration? Or is it a separate disk you received via mail?
Does the Octane pass IDE?
Does the disk contain a valid Volume header?
