ircombine and the desktop on a _broadcast_ output??

Unread postby dcarmich » Fri Aug 15, 2003 9:53 am

Was reading a post in a home theater/AV forum about a HDTV broadcast
on CBS, and a guy was describing an SGI desktop and a 'video output
format menu' that was superimposed over the HD image with a technician
changing the format. (He speculated it was ircombine.) Could it have

Wouldn't you use 'videoout' or the video panel to change the output
going out on a _video_ feed versus the RGB display feed? (I thought
ircombine was for the RGB gfx channels.) Wouldn't the desktop not even
go out to the broadcast feed?

(Haven't worked seriously with anything greater than a desktop
