going keyboardless

Unread postby SparcV » Tue Jun 17, 2003 3:00 pm

is there a way to make it so my sgi's can boot without a keyboard attached. When I do it now they complain about the keyboard not being attached. I know there's an env setting in the prom for keyboard input but I dont know what I could put in. I would like to do this with my Indigo and my O2.

Thats almost what I want to do. I want to have a monitor attached to the machine. I just dont want a keyboard/mouse attached. I want to use the machines to drive a second monitor and use x2x to control it from my Octane.

Try it and see what happens; that's pretty much the only option. According to the PROM monitor chapter:

nogfxkbd - Specifies that the keyboard is not required to be connected if set to 1.

I did exactly that (x2x), and the nogfxkbd is the setting to set.
