One am I… no matter how, one today's still so cool hardware Boliden never will surely reach itself, what silicone Graphics was aka SGI times. Zitrige of hands and sweat on the forehead got the Geeks alone at the thought one of these machines to see, let alone thus work or, a sin directly to be allowed to call it its own. The fear by feel, which mixed with the understanding-moderate respect and became the reverence, was so large so holy the areas… in still the Mainframe times was a SGI the epitome of the elegance, Coolnes and raw power. In 3D.

Well, it is nearly 20 years ago and today impresses one no longer so simply. In addition, today wars I the goose skin, if I think of one of the workstations at that time, of Indy and Indigo… now, Commodity call one, the diagram power found such a thing the way in the living room and became favorably. The reverence disappeared. The legend remained.

Unfortunately is not SGI any longer so well. I hope, those get over the crisis and find its own way. I press the thumbs completely firmly!

i'm sure of one thing ... no matter how, none of today's 'cool' boxen will ever reach what sgi was.
the geeks got shaky hands and sweat on the forehead just by thinking of seeing such a machine let alone working with it or like a sin calling one your own.
the emotional fear mixed with deep respect transforming into awe was so big, so holy the rooms ... during the mainframe-times an sgi was the paragon of elegance, coolness and raw power. in 3d.

sure, it was nearly 20 years ago and today you don't impress so easily. but even today thinking of one of the workstations like an indigo makes my flesh creep. well it's called commodity, the gfx power made its way into the living rooms and got cheaper. the awe disappeared. the legend stayed.

sadly sgi isn't so well anymore. i hope they'll weather and find their own way. fingers crossed!

not totally exact but i guess it covers the most and preserves the feeling mostly ...

This is hilarious!

Translation is an art! For those of you who have not used Alta-Vista's Babel Fish translator, based on SYSTRAN, or Intertrans, another popular online translator, then you don't know what incredibly bad translations these online translators can produce, BUT sometimes surprisingly good, when there's no ambiguity and everything in the original text is straightforward and literal, not metaphorical or leaving much to the imagination.

My own English to German translations are rarely praised, often ridiculed, sometimes even scorned. My German to English translations are not much better, even though English is my native language.

Leider, Goethe bin ich nicht.

Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich stärker. -- F. Nietzsche

Gott wurfelt nicht! -- A. Einstein

More good Quantum Quotes:

http://musr.physics.ubc.ca/~jess/p200/quotes.html

``However I cannot seriously believe in it because the theory is incompatible with the principle that physics is to represent reality in space and time, without spookish long-distance effects.''

The current consensus is now that Einstein's intuition was wrong about this issue!
