From R12K 300 to 360 or Dual R10k 250

Unread postby rmigfr » Sat Feb 28, 2004 8:35 am

Hello, I'm searching a cpu upgrade for my octane R10k250... There is no many things on ebay now, and the prices on XSNet are a little to high for me (the R12k4000 is interesting but my motherboard revison - rev 3 - does not allow it).

If someone has something interesting, and are ready to ship it to France, do not hesitate. I can pay immediatly, via paypal or Western Union.

Thanks !

What is your motherboard number exactly?

Only the R12K 270MHz needs a 030-1467-001 motherboard... I have a 400MHz R12K on one of my Octanes with the old motherboard (030-0887-001) and it works perfectly.

You can find R12K 300MHz on a regular basis on ebay, cosmos also has a dual R12K 360MHz that he's trying to sell. That will definitely work on the 030-0887-001

The Keeper on here had some r12-360 spu's. I can highly recommend that upgrade as being the most bang for the buck. Iirc they were $200 USD

If you change two resistors on the board then it's even faster than a 400, also (425 mhz. So far been perfect here - maybe three weeks now ?)
