WTB: Ultra64 dev kit

Unread postby spirossi » Wed May 10, 2017 12:36 pm

Hey everyone,

I would love to get hold of one of those (presumably) rather rare gems (and would pay a reasonable price). I don’t care whether it’s the card only or if it comes with an Indy. Please send me a pm if you would like to part with yours.

Regards

Bump.

Maybe putting a number to the words might help: Depending on what’s included I would offer at least $600. (International shipping not included.)

You'd likely be better off posting at https://assemblergames.com/ if you haven't already. They specialize in this kind of stuff.
HP Visualize C3700 (HP-UX 11.11)
IBM RS/6000 7011-250 (AIX 4.3.3)
Sun SPARCclassic (SunOS 4.1.4)
Sun Ultra 1 (Solaris 8)

Whats your motivation? If you want to do N64 development then I have a spare Psy-Q devkit.

Thanks, great – I will try my luck over there as well.

Dabbling in N64 development is one motivation. The other is out of collecting passion. :)

That Psy-Q devkit sounds interesting – I couldn’t find too much information about it. What else is needed to get going?

So the Psy-Q devkit is cartridge based - it fits into the top of a retail N64. All you need is a standard cartridge that fits into a slot on the side to provide a suitable security key (I use Mario Kart).

It links to a PC via an ISA interface card, which basically is a SCSI adapter of which I also have some spares - but it means you are going to need a PC with ISA slots. It *may* be possible to get it working with a standard SCSI adapter but I haven't tried this. The development environment is all PC based, all you need is the N64 SDK and the Psy-Q compiler/linker and connection tools/debugger which are available if you search for them on google i suspect.
