wtb: ISO 7816-like, I2C DataCard + Card Reader with serial RS232/RS422 interface

ISO 7616 describes three kind of cards:
  • Memory only
  • Memory with security logic (e.g. SLE4442 by Siemens)
  • Memory with CPU

None of then is I2c chip, since `AT24C128SC i2c-chip on ISO 7616 form-factor' cards are mainly described and sold by Atmel (now Microchip?). I need ISO 7816-shaped card of 85,7x54x0,81mm, I need neither microprocessor cards nor security logic card, I am looking for the simplest memory card, such as 2-wire Serial Interface EEPROM datacards. Of course I also need a card-reader, which can't be USB-driven because I have a simple RS232 interface on my board, and I also need sources, since I have to use them on a linux embedded board (MIPS-LE).

ISO7816-cards manufacturers generally sell their units with binary drivers, for linux-x86 32/64bit.

I could build the PCB and program an MPU by myself, i2c-chips are very easy to be interfaced directly, but I still need the ISO 7616-mechanics and a couple of AT24C128SC-cards. I am not able to find and buy a couple of them in small quantity.

If you have any/or tips for me, I am all hears :)
