I don't know. You'll need to check with one of the guys here who can look up the P/N to see whether it's PS/2 or proprietary. It looks PS/2 just from the length of the cord - the older mice tend to have shorter cords since they plug into the KB and then the KB plugs into the computer.

Then I think I should be fine then. If I recall, I had a granite mouse back when I had an O2.

You can use PS/2 keyboards and mice without worry on Indys (and the Indy's server variant, the Challenge S), Indigo 2s (and the Indigo 2's server variant, the Challenge M), O2s, Octanes, Fuels, Tezros, Onyx 2s and beyond, and Origin 200/2000s and beyond. You even can enable support for wheel mice on systems with PS/2 ports.

You cannot use standard PS/2 keyboards and mice on older systems, like Indigos, Onyxes, Challenge DM/L/XLs, Crimsons, and so on.

However, there is an adapter available that converts a standard PS/2 mouse and keyboard to the older Indigo/Onyx interface: http://www.ebay.com/itm/152302569444

Congratulations! I have two Indys, but neither are actually working. Should buy parts for them (as well as a few other odds and ends I need) soon.

Put a new 80pin 137GB Fujitsu HDD in mine(O2). Got cheap on Amazon. $25 each or something like that.

I didn't even consider amazon. A buddy of mine works for an IBM reseller and I'm going to see if he can't source me a drive.

Word of advice, stay off there. Some people on there will ruin your passion for computers.

Good to know to be leary. I've been lurking for a while, and yeah, I can definitely see some of that happening.

That's the Nekochan IRC, right? I've heard not great things about it and by watching how some people around here act, it's not completely surprising.

Some people who used to be on there, like an old flame of mine, are good people, but there's other people that are incredibly hostile towards collectors, insult you repeatedly and make you want to reenact Angry German Kid in your living room.

Why are they hostile to collectors? I mean isn't that the point?
