That's John/Mopar 5150. He's a great guy here. We've done business for about 2-3 years.

DOH, I should have looked at the seller name and connected it to Mopar 5150. I don't think I could afford the Tezro right now. But hey, maybe it'll be up for a while and I can snag it.

Oy, yeah but my PayPal credit wont cover the whole cost. more like half. So I'll just have to cross my fingers. Though I imagine someone will get it before me. There is a chance I could get it early DEC only because my son's bday is late Oct and I told him I'll set him up with a new vid card and Vive headset. So that's money allocated already BUT... I think i will keep the pay pal Zero in case there is a chance.

:/ This hobby is torture. I still am trying to find time to set up my O2 for desktop capture so I can do retro tutorials for Softimage and Maya 6.5 for everyone here and others on Youtube. That way the tinkerers can get past the tinkering stage and see how we do it in Hollywood.

Still tons of capability in these old machines even if the rendering is super slow. The Tezro would make using old Mental Ray 2.x quite palatable though. I can get it to cook decently with my 02 400mhz box. So literally 10x the speed would be boss.

+1 on the softimage and maya tuts. Youtube is great, but vintage stuff is hard to find, and obviously mostly old professional grade VHS footage of a time ago. Get rid of the mystique and bring it up to date!

I may join you, as I have the same rig.

And just like blogging instead of languishing on a long post, turn out a quickie and a link to a bigger example you can finish later.

Release early. Release often.

Yeah I thought it would sell before I could be ready to buy. Ah well, no worries.

I would start those Maya/Softimage tuts but I still need to get Perl successfully installed on my o2 because the desktop capture program I am trying to install wont install because it says it is missing perl. I have a thread here and was helped immensely but I can't seem to get past the installation because I am an Irix newb.

I use linux so I am somewhat savvy but for some reason I can't figure out what part of the process I am not getting right.

As soon as I have a full desktop capture I can start making tuts.

Honestly though I just figured I'd set up my iPhone on a triPod and do it that way. Still, would be neat to get a camtasia type desktop record of the tutorials.

If you are open to rack hardware I have plenty of that, and since you are local I can get it to you for next to nothing. Especially if you will be doing tutorials for the forum.
PM me and lets go from there.
