Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)
Ahh, I hate when my computer turns into a different computer halfway through taking pictures of it! Either that, or the computer is actually a chain of multiple SGI products moving through 4D space, and the Tezro moved out of our plane before the third picture could be taken. If an Indycam cable comes by, plug it in to see into another dimension!

Hmm, I always wish my Octane2 would spontaneously warp into a Tezro. Maybe I should take a lot of pictures of my Octane2 to motivate it to change its plane of existence?

Where subtlety fails us we must simply make do with cream pies.
Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)
Maybe the Octane is a render node for the Tezro.

Fun fact: during the the filming of Jurassic Park, the Crimson was having 30 pictures of it taken every second, causing it to often warp into a PowerSeries. Because of this limitation, "it's a UNIX system" is thought to be the most expensive to shoot scene in the entire film.

Auction has been updated with (presumably) photos of the actual system.
And while Hombre linked ebay.de, it's located in the north of France and also on eBay.fr: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Ordinateur-Vinta ... 2863004983
Looks like an old Discreet system. And it has the DCD option. They stopped offering the DCD at some point, so this is likely an older system. Discreet Tezros are often 4x 700MHz with ~ 5GB RAM.
They claim that it powers up normally. If you don't like to gamble, just explain to the seller how to open the side panel on the CPU side and write down the 030-xxxx-yyy part number of the CPU board.

To accentuate the special identity of the IRIS 4D/70, Silicon Graphics' designers selected a new color palette. The machine's coating blends dark grey, raspberry and beige colors into a pleasing harmony. (IRIS 4D/70 Superworkstation Technical Report)

It is starting to look more appealing already. Indeed, find out more info and then make them a lower offer if ok.

Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)
I was tempted.. I contacted the seller.. free delivery to the UK.. awesome..
I could purchase this quite easily and not feel guilty since I would class it as a birthday present..
Unfortunately, even though I took the effort to google translate a nice email to the seller.. I feel he was as informative as a dead person and I had not the skill of CSI for any DNA ttype autopsy crap...

Sometimes, you just have to take a chance!
The fact that the seller is offering free shipping to the Uk is a huge bonus, as usually the shipping ends up by costing a substantial amount compared to the cost of the actual machine!
It sure looks like it could be a good system (DCD option, quite possibly a V12)!

I do fancy a Tezro no doubt, and this does look good, the fact it has the XT-DIGVid, DCD it just has to be a V12.
I could just plug this system in without buying anything else... if it is a working system.

I might be wrong, but wasn't the machine in the 800 - 900 EUR range, when Hombre71 first posted the link? Now it's at 970 EUR. Or was it orginally without buy-it-now option?

You put a pillow on it and use it as a stool.
