Bidding ended with no bids on 1/25/17. I wonder what happened to it.

There is contact information in the posting, if someone in Canada wants something like that maybe try contacting them?

Oh my god, I check that site all the time, how did I miss that?
I am a Canadian who regularly visits Toronto and even has access to an enclosed trailer (the kind you always see at construction sites). Kicking myself over this. I sent an email, let's hope they haven't tossed it yet.

Looks like maybe it was relisted and sold for 900? Searching for it yields this page:

Oh man, what a waste of money...

Why does the government buy so many computers to not even use them?
(I know I'm a fool for asking this... governments never waste anything)

I would consider bidding on that if it doesn't get bid higher... ThinkPads are nice.

X220 daily here. No, MINE is the best laptop ever :D . I run Qubes OS on it. Lot of 15 T520s would just be to sell, though it will probably get bid far past my price range.

Nothing wrong with a little X220 but far and above I've the faster laptop. 32GB of RAM, 2 drives and a 3940XM.

I know, I know :) . I too have two drives, but one is mSATA. I could only go to 16GB, and obviously my CPU is never going to match yours/

Sorry, my X201 is a superior machine. Better trackpad and screen than the X220, although yours does at least still have the "classic" keyboard :)

No, but many consider the classic board to be better. You can upgrade to a classic board on the T430 if you prefer it.

Must admit, the chiclet keyboard on modern ThinkPads isn't bad (I have an X1 Carbon as well), but I do find the classic one nicer. My biggest problem with modern ThinkPads is the awful trackpads on them and the poor screens as well compared with older ThinkPads.

I have a 1080p screen here and it's good as they get for laptops, high dpi and everything. It just gets dirty easily, which is a minor nuisance.

The original style KBs are fine, but the new type hasn't given me any grief in adjustment. I just think people who say Lenovo has lost it in terms of quality aren't looking around. Apple deserves that award though, no expandability on new models and gluing everything together is aggravating.

Agreed with Apple. I have two Mac Minis (one PPC, one Intel) which have been nice systems, but their recent obsession with glueing and soldering everything in gets right up my wick - especially when I consider how many upgrades my current Mac Mini has had over the years.

With Lenovo, I dislike buttonless trackpads, and I've used several Thinkpads at work which are hopelessly inaccurate as the whole pad moves as a giant button, so every time you click the cursor moves. I also have to admit that I despise 16:9 screens. It's an aspect ratio designed for watching TV on, not doing proper work, and it was only pushed out everywhere due to being a bit cheaper to make - and it's annoying when you see expensive laptops with screens chosen for their cheapness.

I'm still waiting to see if they make a "Retro Thinkpad". It is rumoured for this year. Modern tech with a 16:10 or 3:2 screen, classic trackpad and keyboard. Now that's more like it!

Retro thinkpad is quite likely. Likely coming October 5th.
