Hello :)

i'm new to Sgi hardware, having a Indigo 2
does the Extreme video card works well under Maya 4 ?


how about the speed vs a solid impact

Well I don't know how it compares directly to a Solid IMPACT, but I can tell you my experience is that Maya 4 running on Max IMPACT w/TRAM is slow. Maya really works best on faster hardware.

Wellcome to the "No Texture" Club. The extreme boards could do only colored/alpha triangles. no hw texture at all. Impact boards do triangles faster and also have hw texturing.

I have only maya 1.0 but even with that, for a large scene, previewing with full shaded objects is a tad slow.
