I'm sure you know this, the 1GB sticks have white markings and the 512MB sticks have green markings.

The memory must be matched in this way:

Just removed and reset memory, and It passes.

Update... still not working.

Have swapped out most parts now into other system with the exception of the CPU board and the power supply.
Also swapped the memory around which has left me with reduced memory in the working system.

Code: Select all

Testing/Initializing memory ...............     *** Swapping bank 0 with bank 2 on module 001c01 (nasid 0)
*** All other banks on the node are remapped as well.
        DONE

Now I'm getting 2560 MB instead of the installed 4GB.
There is a way to reset the registered memory at the l1 iirc but I can't recall it.

"enableall" is the command which will enable disabled memory.

Are you at least able to get as far as the prom menu?

Connected via l1 currently, enableall is not available?

There doesn't actually seem a lot you can do with the memory.

it appears that 5 Memory modules are working, each 512Mb which also seems odd.
[Edit...Edit...]
Ah.. ok, so still talking about the working machine, it appears I do have a mixed memory module.

Code: Select all

Memory at Module 001c01/Slot 0: 2560 MB (enabled)
Bank 0 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (disabled)
Bank 1 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (disabled)
Bank 2 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 3 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 4 contains 256 MB (Standard) DIMMS (disabled)
Bank 5 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 6 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (enabled)
Bank 7 contains 512 MB (Standard) DIMMS (enabled)

Will get that sorted when I get home.

Another day another dollar..

Now back on the non working machine.

So reading this thread http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16727613&p=7359126&hilit=timeout+uart#p7359126 has helped me get a bit further. After a reset I'm moving forward.

Seems to be SCSI related anyway.

Tonight's update, I have Tezro 1 working fine again. Will post a hinv since it's rather spiffing.

Now working on Tezro 2 which has the SCSI issue.

Last night I fired up the machine without the IO9 and it went through and reached the PROM..

It sort of says the IO9 is at fault and that I should just disregard the part were I swapped the IO9 out with a working machine and it passed the tests, I must have imagined doing that. If I did, it must be some good imagination since I still have a cut on my hand trying to get the darn card in. I do not want to carry out that operation again, in fact I don't want to touch the working Tezro again.

I think this weekend, I will strip it ALL down, see what I can find.

BTW, it's a 2x700MHz job, I managed to get a tiny hinv out of it.

Have temp put low low spec Tezro by the side, as I am pretty sure it's the IO9..

But fear not.. the Tezro is still productive..
