Maintaining scsi hard drives

Unread postby MrBill » Sat Jul 08, 2017 5:11 pm

A while ago I picked up many scsi hard drives. Today i got a comapq rackmount scsi enclosure loaded with some of the disks and attached to an octane for testing.

I found one of the disks to be bad, a bunch of read errors were being thrown into the console. Is there any way to monitor the disk health and get reports or such if a disk is failing?

Can i set up some kind of raid on irix for redundancy should a disk fail?
